Arnaud Bresson started to work with tagged based data formats in 1995 already, while working on the WHO Division of Control of Tropical Diseases set of informative HTML pages.

Later version of this website, as well as the Malaria Network, in january 1998, were founded on a custom tags set based representation of documents, in a Content Management System written in Perl.

XML was, at that stage, not yet a recommendation although the two above mentionned systems were just already conforming to it.

Separation of concerns, as well as the qualification of the information, have since then always been core concepts of our consulting activity.
